The José Eduardo dos Santos University is a Higher Education Institution that develops its activities in the Province of Huambo. Its VISION is to be an innovative university, a national reference and to assert itself in the regional (SADC) and international context.

In 2020, with the reorganization of the Network of Public Higher Education Institutions, published in Presidential Decree No. 285/20 of October 29, UJES was limited to the province of Huambo and, in accordance with Presidential Decree No. 286/21 of December 2, it now has 7 (seven) Organic Units, being 6 (six) Faculties and 1 (one) Polytechnic Institute.
Oversight body: Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation. Management bodies: Rector, assisted by two Vice-Rectors. The Organic Units are administered by Deans and two Vice-Deans, one for Academic Affairs and the other for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies.
Vision & Mission
Over the next 5 (five) years, UJES intends to focus its actions on quality management, aimed at the implementation, consolidation and expansion of a contemporary Higher Education Institution, based on principles of sustainability. It is articulated in four fundamental axes, namely: Teaching, Research, Innovation and Postgraduate Studies; University Extension and Administrative Management. And thus, to be an innovative University, a reference in the national context and to assert itself (have a place of merit) in the regional (SADC) and international context
