In a developing state like Pakistan, provision of medical services is still very deficient. In order to fulfill the existing deficiency of doctors and lack of enough seats for medical students in the government sector an excellent and dedicated endeavor is made in the form of Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College. Presently, one doctor for a population of 2,000 and one dental surgeon for a population of 35,000 is available, which is below the recommended ratio of 1: 500 for an MBBS doctor.

Introduction

The idea of Akhtar Saeed Medical and Dental College (AMDC) was conceived by Dr Farooq Saeed Khan (Chief Executive Farooq Group of Companies). It is established with the aim of providing state of the art medical education and produce graduates with highest academic, cognitive and psychomotor skills.

We endeavor to produce not only doctors but altruistic and empathetic physicians who will serve as a beacon of hope and benevolence for the deprived and serve as role models for future generations. The highest standard of teaching, training of medical students, and patient care are aimed. A balanced program of integrated problem-based learning and continuous medical education will be followed to keep the students abreast with the latest developments in the field of medicine.

The culture of research will be inculcated in both students and teachers of the institute, later on embarking on post-graduate medical and nursing education in planned.
